Health Insurance - Breakdown, Indemnity, Assurance, Comparison

A private medical/health insurance policy is specifically designed to cover the costs of private medical treatment for what are more commonly known as acute conditions. Insurers define an acute condition as a disease, illness or injury that is likely to respond quickly to treatment, such treatment aims to help you return to the state of health you enjoyed immediately before suffering the disease, illness or injury or leads to your recovery to full health.

This type of insurance is purchased giving one the reassurance of knowing that treatment is available promptly and quickly, if you become ill or are injured at all. Private patients can often choose when the treatment will take place, the specialist who treats you and the hospital where your treatment is. Typically, you’ll usually have the privacy of an en-suite room with TV and other home comforts. It is important to note, this insurance isn’t designed to replace all of the services offered on the NHS.
