"No good" being told to tighten belts

Published: 06 October 2008
It is no good for the government to tell lower-paid public sector employees to tighten their belts when prices "are being allowed to spiral", one sector commentator has claimed.
In news that may be of interest to those seeking unsecured loans, a spokesperson for Unison said there needed to be some sort of movement on this issue to allow Britons to be able to pay their bills.
"Most people - and people in local government - have not only had no pay rise this year, but are also living on the money that they had from last year, so it's increasingly difficult and people are becoming increasingly frustrated," she explained.
Britons on the search for unsecured loans may also be interested to hear that early last month, the chancellor of the exchequer, Alistair Darling defended policy on public sector pay and rejected unions' calls to scrap a two per cent cap on pay rises.
