More Britons are making the decision to haggle over the price of items such as a car or television set, it has been claimed.
In news that may be of interest to credit card customers, research by CreditExpert has revealed that many people are still unwilling to negotiate when it comes to financial products.
However, 57 per cent of respondents said they were now more likely to indulge in a spot of haggling with a vendor than they were 12 months ago, due to the ongoing economic downturn.
Jim Hodgkins, managing director of CreditExpert.co.uk, said: "The credit crunch appears to be having a significant effect on our haggling behaviour and as our wallets feel the pinch, we are less willing to settle for the advertised price."
