A taste of debt?

Published: 25 September 2008 in Unsecured Loans

While many people who find themselves in debt would refrain from eating out at restaurants, those who continue to spend on such luxury leisure activities may not have yet faced up to the reality of their financial situation, one sector commentator has claimed.

In news that may be of interest to those seeking unsecured loans, Derek Oakley, operations director at Debt Free Direct, said recognising a debt problem was the first step to dealing with it.

"We urge customers to act quickly to start to address their debt problem … even though this can sometimes feel uncomfortable and perhaps frightening," he explained.

Mr Oakley added that the issue was widespread across the UK, particularly in London.

People having trouble dealing with several different financial outgoings at once may find that applying for unsecured loans aids them in managing their expenditure.

Meanwhile, according to the latest Zagat survey released this month, the average cost of a meal in London has increased by 3.7 per cent since last year's poll to £40.39.
