The UK is too busy talking to get value for money, one company has claimed.
Research by moneysupermarket.com has revealed that despite the credit crunch putting a strain on Britons' finances - which should prompt them to take action to keep costs down - many are sticking with their costly mobile tariffs.
Over half of consumers (55 per cent) admitted that they did not let the phone tariff influence their last purchasing decision but instead focused on the handset they would be getting.
Meanwhile, 35 per cent claimed that it was the make and model of the handset which most swayed them over what product to buy, while 20 per cent said network coverage was most important.
James Parker, manager of mobiles at moneysupermarket.com, said: "At a time when every penny counts, it's more important than ever to ensure you don't have to pay for what you don't need."
Meanwhile, having the best mobile phone deals could be of interest to the 1.41 million Britons who Sainsbury's Bank has revealed plan to go on holiday for an extended period in order to escape the miserable weather.
